The Youth Support Coordinator is available to provide a confidential service to support young people to remain engaged in education, or transition into other training or employment.
Youth Support Coordinators may work collaboratively with families, school staff, government agencies and community organisations to address barriers to student engagement.
They can provide information, support, advocacy and referrals to young people who may be experiencing a range of issues that are impacting on their engagement at school.
Youth Support Coordinators also facilitate group work and community programs in partnership with the school and other community support agencies to ensure that the emotional and social support needs of young people and their families are addressed.
Appointments and referrals
- Students can self-refer by dropping by the Chappy room to see the Youth Support Coordinator, by asking a teacher or at the student counter desk
- Staff members can refer students via the Guidance Officer
- Parents or carers can also refer by calling the school.
