The arts have the
capacity to engage, inspire and enrich all students, exciting the imagination
and encouraging them to reach their creative and expressive potential (ACARA,
2010) . Sandgate District State High School has a proud history of excellence
in Visual and Performing Arts subjects. Students have the opportunity to study
a broad range of artistic pursuits with experienced and passionate staff.
Students at Sandgate
High can study the following subjects in the Arts Faculty in Years 7-10
- Music
- Visual Art
- Media Art (Year 9-10 only)
In Year 7, students
study a rotation of Arts subjects to experience new learning areas in
secondary, and then can elect study in the arts as they progress to Year 10, as
they develop their own artistic style. Our programs are designed to be
inclusive of all students and relevant with recent artistic trends.
